The Life Garden ministry that IAFR supports through Thrive for Good has made a life-saving difference in Dzaleka Refugee Camp. People who were living on less than $1 a day, and who were prevented from working to make a living, are now trained gardeners providing food for their families. Pastor Boniface Balenga leads this church-based initiative that is now spreading across the camp of 58,000 residents bringing hope and nourishment to these communities.
In addition to providing practical support to residents, IAFR partners with Inua Advocacy Innuaadvocacy.org. This organization of excellent resident leaders seeks to inform and implement policy change and protection for refugees in Malawi.
We also work through Health Partners International of Canada to provide over $600,000 worth of medical supplies that stock the chronically under-resourced medical clinic in the camp. This clinic serves, not only the 58,000 camp residents, but also those from the host community.

A network of over twenty churches across Colombia, provide safe spaces for women and children who are particularly vulnerable as they flee Venezuela through areas controlled by cartels and impacted by criminality. These safe spaces provide shelter along with programs such as music, tutoring, sports and food.

The STEP Ministry provides quality education for over 100 refugee children who are not permitted in the regular school system in Beirut. This ministry provides children, not only a safe space to learn, but trains them in lifeskills, provides them with trauma care, and also ensures their food security.

Trauma healing is so necessary, not just for individuals, bt for communities. Our partners at I Live Again Uganda bring healing and restoration to entire communities making them safe again for people to return home.
The returning villagers are given seed to plant their land, goats to provide milk and meat for their family, and all the necessities to build their home. The ILA team then mediates discussions with village elders ensuring that when people return home they are understood and accepted.

The conflict in Soudan continues to drive thousands from their homes and communities. Many of these Soudanese refugees flee to Egypt, where they wait for years for the end of a war that has no end in sight.
Our partners at Bridges of Hope work with their local Christian churches to provide much needed practical, emotional, and spiritual support to these refugees who are seeking hope in the midst of turmoil.
